Behind every shot is a story worth sharing
One Shot, One Story is a 501(c)(3) amplifying youth voices through powerful storytelling to humanize gun violence and inspire meaningful action across America.
The Crisis Facing Our Generation
In America, 125 people are shot and killed every single day and over 40,000 lives are lost to gun violence every year. All of us have been affected by gun violence whether we realize it or not - we’ve grown up on lockdown drills and seen the headlines of shootings across the country. Gun violence is now the leading cause of death for our generation of youth which is why we especially need to speak up about it.

What Our Community is Saying
“I learned that making an actual change and influencing which bills get passed in your state is way easier than most people think. All it takes is a script, a phone number, and five minutes of your time to be the voice for the change you're advocating for.”
“I am so impressed with this team and their understanding of this issue. The trigger lock they’ve developed through SafeLock has immense potential to help more households stay safe and I wholeheartedly endorse this technology.”
“Being part of OSOS has provided me with valuable experience in advocacy along with gaining a better understanding of gun violence and the implications it has on our communities. Joining OSOS is great for those interested in public policy, advocacy, or simply for those seeking to positively impact their community”
“OSOS has been so fun and eye-opening, especially to the issue of gun violence in general, as it is such a serious problem in many communities but often is overlooked. I’ve learned so much more about lobbying and how accessible it is to reach out to people who work in the government.”
“It was a great experience and nice to be exposed to such a serious issue of gun violence, especially from a state that doesn't experience much. It feels good to be aware and to have made an impact and raise awareness!”
“OSOS has helped me realize the magnitude of the gun violence epidemic in America. However, they’ve also helped me realize that making actual change is possible. I just wish that no child has to stare into the barrel of a gun ever again.”
